"Just fine"
My flight got in to Athens at 3:30 in the morning so I was only looking to book into a hotel for a few hours sleep before making my way down the Grecia coast to my destination. The Alassia has a lovely marble reception and very friendly staff, even in the middle of the night! The man who checked me in even offered me a late check-out of 3pm at no extra cost, since I was getting in so late. He said he didn't want me to be tired for Greece! The room itself was tiny but impeccably clean, which makes all the difference in the world. The other reviews about the beds and pillows are true, not the most comfortable of both but for €60 per night, I didn't really care. The hotel is very close to Omonia Square and about a 20 minute walk to the Acropolis, which thanks to the generosity of the late check-out, I was able to get up early, leave my bags in the hotel, see both attractions and then check out. Wonderful hotel for the money, if you are not looking for luxury and just want a clean safe place to lay your head while you sight-see Athens, the Alassia is great value. |

"Not too bad"
Stayed for 2 nights at the end of our trip to Greece. The hotel itself isn't too bad, nice rooms with decent common areas. Modern decor, near Omonia square and close to the Metro station. Had a buffet breakfast, which was the usual Greek breakfast: edible but not gourmet. The view out of our room was pretty bad, overlooking the busy street and a delapidated building. Room was small (as most in Athens), but clean with an above average bathroom--the shower didn't flood (again, as most in Athens).
Don't think I would stay there again, but wasn't entirely disappointed. Decent location, generally safe, but not nice. Good if you plan on being out of your room most of the day and don't want to spend too much, but like a nice shower and clean sheets.

"very nice and warm boutique hotel"
I stayed at The Alassia Hotel for 3 nights with my wife mid September. the location is very central close to the omonoia metro station and you can also walk to monastiraki psiri and syntagma area. The staff was very helpful and although we arrived at 10 am we were able to check in at no extra cost! The rooms are nice and very clean but not very big. I liked the lobby area decor very much. Warm and cosy atmosphere. My money was well spent and I will probably visit the hotel again. |

Plaka
Area |
| |
As
soon as you start walking around Plaka's stone-paved, narrow streets,
you will have the feeling that you are travelling back in time. This is
Athens' oldest and, thanks to the restoration efforts which went into
its buildings in recent years, most picturesque neighbourhood. You will
be delighted by the beauty of the neo-classical colours of its houses,
their architecture, their lovingly tended little gardens, the elegance,
and the total atmosphere of the area. In Plaka, even the air is different;
lighter, clearer, scented, like a gift from the gods. More
