"Great Service"
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel in February.
The hotel is approx 1.5 miles from the Acropolis & city centre but they have an hourly shuttle bus which is great (times clearly marked) and it is 150 metres from a tram stop, less than 10 minutes from a metro and cabs are cheap (3-5 euros from centre) so this is not a problem.
Not too much nearby.
Concerierge gave best service I have ever experienced. Would definatley return if the price was right.

"Outstanding service!"
Me and my 5 friends have spent very nice weekend in IC Athens in February. Beautiful spacious rooms, outstanding Front Office Staff, friendly Bellmen. Complimentary shuttle to Syntagma Square + very nice weather made it an unforgettable weekend. |

"Great hotel with small swimming pool"
The hotel is obviously of excellent quality being an Inter-Continental so no need to talk about that. I was surprised however to see their swimming pool which I thought was small for a hotel of this size. An other drawback could be the view if your room is not facing the Acropolis but the old and ugly apartment blocks surrounding the hotel.

"Loved it all the way"
We were looking for a relaxing and regrouping family holiday and we certainly found it here at Intercontinental hotel in Athens! We have been to many different locations in Europe and would certainly recommend this to anyone. Our accommodation was very good, it was a large room with en-suite which was excellently presented and immaculately clean.Staff were very curteous, moved quickly to serve you, always kind, helpful and friendly. The hotel grounds and rooms were spotless, and the restaurant was enough for any appetite. Complete range of all types of food to suit anyone, freshly cooked by international chef's We will definitely return.

"Marvellous!"
This is a wonderfull hotel, as almost all Intercontinental hotels and resorts worldwide. The guest rooms are spacious with fine decoration, as well as all the public spaces of the property. The lobby area is amazing, restaurants and bars too. Especially, the restaurant and bar on rooftop are very nice, with breathtaking views on the Athens Acropolis. When I go to Athens, either for business or for leisure, I always try to stay at this marvellous hotel.

"Our touch of luxury while in Greece.
"
After leaving the island of Hydra, which is rustic by any meaure, we needed a touch of luxury. We were into our fourth night in Greece when my husband began to have kidney stone pain. We canceled our "cheap" hotel in Athens and called AMX conceriege and they booked us at the Intercontinental. The staff at the hotel spoke English and treated us like royalty. The room was very clean and comfortable and roomy with every amenity and the A/C was a great relief. After a shower and some rest and rehydrated via the minibar, my husband was feeling much better, however, the pool was not spectacular so we stayed in our room mostly and watched the many channels on TV that were English speaking to catch up on the news around the world. The breakfast buffet was the best we had in Greece. The hotel conceirge arranged for a trustworthy cab driver to take us to the Acropolis, kept our luggage in the cab and he waited for an hour while we toured it, then took us to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Athens and looking for luxury or business accommodations. This hotel delivered their promise of service and luxury and was worth every penny.

"Great Place to Stay, Business or Pleasure"
I have stayed at the Intercontinental about 7 times in the past 4 years. Anywhere between 1 night to 10 days. I'm a member of Priority Club. Never have I been dissapointed. Rooms are excellent. Clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet, fully equiped with modern technology. I have roomed in Standard to Suite. Location of Hotel is not in the center of Athens. So what. The shuttle bus is always on time, and the cab ride back from Syntagma square is 3-6 Euros. If there are demonstrations around Syntagma square, is that the Hotels fault? Give me a break! Demo's in Athens are a common reality. If you you're staying at the Hilton, you would have the same problem. Even worse, if you stayed at the Grand Brigtagne, which is located across the street from Syntagama square, the noise, smoke and tear gas, would not make it a pleasant stay. And double the price. If you miss the shuttle bus, walk outside, straight ahead two blocks and catch the TRAM. It is .60 Euros, and you get off on Syntagma Square. Or grab a cab. As for the decor of the lobby, great. Restaurants, Zoes on the main floor is excellent, and on the top floor , Primier, is great but expensive. I rarelly eat at the hotel because I find so many resto's around town, I do not want another hotel meal. The pool is good, but no indoor. Could get chilli sometimes. The rooms have a small refrigerator. Go out the front ( not on the Syngou side) , across the street there is a small "Periptero", sells anything you want, ie. water, croisants, drinks, etc. DO NOT pay for the chocolates , nuts, chips in the room. Too expensive, like any other hotel. This Hotel is great. I have also stayed at the Hiton. Just as good. I would rate the Marriot a half a step bellow these two. If you want location, location, location, and the price that follows, stay at the Grande Bretagne or the King George II. If you cannot afford those prices, ( who can, unless someone else is paying), stay at the Intercontinnental. Make shure to check the prices. Thay have certain months of the year that are very inexpensive, like August.
Enjoy!

As
soon as you start walking around Plaka's stone-paved, narrow streets,
you will have the feeling that you are travelling back in time. This is
Athens' oldest and, thanks to the restoration efforts which went into
its buildings in recent years, most picturesque neighbourhood. You will
be delighted by the beauty of the neo-classical colours of its houses,
their architecture, their lovingly tended little gardens, the elegance,
and the total atmosphere of the area. In Plaka, even the air is different;
lighter, clearer, scented, like a gift from the gods. More
