"Good choice"

+ Very helpful and outgoing stuff. Went out of their way to sort out the ADSL connection in my room, event though it later apppeared that the problem was in my laptop configuration

- The breakfast had a poor sellection (however i can't say I went hungry), while we expected a more solid offer.
another issue: we came back one night about 3:15 AM from a party outside and the doors where shut. we rang the phone but no one picked up. we ended up forcing the sliding doors open and got in. This is however a minor nuisance and I would definitely recommend this hotel for its outgoing staff.

"A Hotel or a Night Club?"

While the rooms are nice and relatively clean (the bathrooms are great), we did not enjoy our stay. The location is not the most convenient (bus+subway in order to get to the city center), and the front desk was not very forthcoming when it came to almost any kind of information that we happened to request. The main problem, however, was the level of noise during the night.
The atrium is a covered innter courtyard and our rooms had the misfortune of facing it. In two of the three nights we were there the hotel hosted a wedding party and a new year's party. That meant loud music well into the night, certainly too lud for any chance of catching some sleep. During the first noisy night (wedding) we did not complain because we just hoped it will be over soon, and did not want to be a partypooper- after all a wedding was taking place. The party was over around 3am. In the morning I approached the front desk and told them that the level of noise is unacceptable and that we had an awful night. They did not apologize but told me they will contact the owner.
The following night was new year's eve. The owner, again, decided to augment his income by renting the place out for a massive party. I have no problem with parties- but I did not pay good money to sleep in the middle of one. This time the music was even louder. I called the front desk around 1am- with no noticable reduction in noise. A second call did not help either. I went down to the lobby and the front desk called the owner, who nodded but explained that it was new year's and there was not much he could do. He promised me that he will try to reduce the volume in 20-30 mins or so. I did not notice much of a difference. No further apology or compensation was offered for two sleepless nights.
The owner needs to decide whether he is running a hotel or a night club- the two are not compatible. We booked a hotel that promised to be quiet (with the trade off of being a bit out of the way)- and ended up in a continuous party. The owners were greedy and rude. I would not reccommend this hotel unless your ide of vacation includes tacky 80's music late into the night.

"Great Hotel to stay while in Athens"

Athens is a busy, beautifull place that's worth visiting. We have stayed at Atrium Hotel (10 minutes by bus from the city centre). In a quiet, clean and friendly neighbourhood. Hotel is rated as 4 stars, but all services are for sure 5 stars (you get a bathrobe and slipers and all the cosmetics you need for the stay).
Brekfast is really good and they pack it (or make it for you) even at 5 am, if you need to leave early. Really good value for money.
If you haven't decided yet wher to go, I highly recommend it.

"Quiet location..."

I stayed at the Athens Atrium and thought the hotel was as promised away from it all and quiet. The walk to the hotel from the Metro was a little off putting as it's in a residential area so passed by a few vagrants sleeping rough. But obviously if you are in a taxi you wouldn't notice that. It's five mins walk away from Marriott and InterCon hotels so it's not too bad. If you are a single women I wouldnt walk to it by yourself as I had an unfortunate experience.

The room was as described and clean, soundproofed and well equipped. The sound proofed is ideal as you ca just close the world outside off.

The hotel is probably better suited to groups than couples as I wouldnt describe it as a romantic environment.

The hotel is only two metro stops from centre of town and 15 mins walk from metro stop. A taxi will cost about 3 EUROS to centre so very reasonable. The cost of the shuttle bus from the airport was a little steep i thought. Thinks its better to ttake the metro or a taxi.

I found the staff accommodating but not very personable and welcoming as they didn't smile once, although I think this is just a Greek thing and the people generally come across as being unfriendly.

On entering the hotel I was a little worried that it seemed very basic for a 4star rated venue but the room made up for it.

"Our country......in great hospitality progress!!"

I have been living and working in London, since the end of my studies in 1990....I recently had the opportunity to visit Athens (and my country of course, Greece) after many years, due to a company's incentive trip....Ouaou!!Athens Atrium Hotel & Suites...one word..."JUST GREAT"!!!

Maybe the biggest stabdard rooms i have ever stayed in....friendly staff....all the modern facilities and amentities....quiet & peaceful location...and even if my company paid...i definately suggest this property.....for 110,00 euro per night, i do not think you will find better deals....Also, thanks Pat (the most lovely receptionist)for all your help.......

I hope to see you all again......

A real 4 star hotel with services and facilities of a 5 star one and rates of a 3 star hotel!!!!

Just try it....

"just ok"

the hotel room was quite and large; however, my room smelled like smoke (even with the no smoking sign) and the noise from the street kept me awake for my 2 nights. i'm fairly particular about cleanliness and this place was pretty good. the one thing about the hotel that i did not like was the distance from the nearest metro. the man at the front desk said '10 min' and it most definitely was not...closer to 20 min and i have long legs and i'm a fast walker. other than that, it wasn't too bad.

Plaka Area

As soon as you start walking around Plaka's stone-paved, narrow streets, you will have the feeling that you are travelling back in time. This is Athens' oldest and, thanks to the restoration efforts which went into its buildings in recent years, most picturesque neighbourhood. You will be delighted by the beauty of the neo-classical colours of its houses, their architecture, their lovingly tended little gardens, the elegance, and the total atmosphere of the area. In Plaka, even the air is different; lighter, clearer, scented, like a gift from the gods. More Plaka
