Eridanus
Hotel Athens Reviews |
Our
classic modern art hotel is situated in the hart of the old classical
side of Athens, 10 minutes walking distance to Psiri, Monastiraki
and Ermou. Hotel Eridanus has very luxurious furnished rooms, some
of them with a very nice view of the Acropolis, Filopapou and Astreroskopio.

"Loved
the little luxuries!"
Upon arrival I was a bit shocked since the exterior looked nothing
like the pictures (they must have an exceptional marketing department).
We pulled up outside a door in peak hour traffic on a main and
busy road and it was horribly loud and polluted. BUT after entering
the hotel, it was like a completely different place! The room
and bathroom was spacious - there was a giant shower head and
Hermes toiletries, plus all the amenities you'd expect from
a 4-5 star hotel. The mini bar has complimentary soft drinks
which we only discovered on the last night when we looked at
the price list. Those drinks are free and replenished daily.
They don't tell you this important fact upon check-in!
We
dined at the Michelin restaurant next door and compared to
Michelin restaurants in other parts of the world and the general
cost of food in Europe, this was good value for money! The
guy at reception is good at recommending places to eat too.
There
is nothing surrounding the hotel, you need to walk about 10
mins up the street to hit the main shopping and dining areas.
The Acropolis is also walking distance, which was great. We
could see it from our room! We liked the walk, it did us good
after eating all that delicious Greek food. If you want to
be right in the thick of things, then you may be a bit disappointed.
We thought the location was great, we walked to all the major
tourist sites (Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Olympic Stadium
etc) and it was great to see Athens on foot.
I
would definitely stay here again - those free drinks will
come in handy after a day out!

"Nice
and attractive"
+ Very
nice and attractive hotel.
- Asked for a wake up call on the morning of
departure and it never came. Fortunately, I had set my alarm
on the mobile phone. We also ordered a taxi, so I wasnt sure
if that had been done as well. When I went downstairs the man
at the reception was talking to a girl. She quickly left when
I asked about the wake up call and the taxi. He did not appologize
for not making the wake up call nor did he say anything about
it, only assured me that the taxi had been ordered. The hotel
is five star quality but the staff and service needs an upgrade. |

"Loved
the Eridanus!"
We stayed in the Eridanus for 3 nights. Everything about the
experience was good. We arrived after a long transatlantic flight
and they very kindly allowed us to check in to our room at 9am
in the morning.
The room was smallish, but ours had a little
balcony with a great view of the Acropolis. The bathroom is
very nice, but as another person mentioned, odd that the shower
is in the toilet area? All toiletries are nice and sodas and
bottled water are provided. The bed is extremly luxurious
and comfortable. The hotel is on a busy street, but the soundproofing
is excellant, blocking street noise and noise from other rooms.
Probably the most silent room we have ever had.
There is a lovely roof garden that unfortunately
was closed, because of rain, while we were there. the attached
bar and restaurant are very good.
The included breakfast is truly wonderful
and outstanding. It will last you most of the day. Many people
mentioned the location, but it is just a few minutes walk
to the ruins and Acropolis. It is right across the street
from the very interesting Keramikos historical area. Very
close (10 minutes) to the Plaka. the best surprise was the
wonder Thisso area, just 5 minutes away. Many fantastic restaurants
and a wonderful people watching experience! Ask the hotel
clerk how to walk there!
I would recommend this hotel highly and would
stay again in the future.

"Good
Hotel, Mediocre Location"
Eridanus is a very good hotel all around except for it's location.
The rooms were comfortable, service was good, and if it were
closer to the city center it would have been even better.
But
of course, if it were any close to the city center, the rate
would probably go up exponentially as well. |

"Truly
Sensational"
I had such a wonderful experience in staying @ the Eridanus
Hotel that I didn't know how to begin in writing this review.
This is by far the best hotel during my stay in Greece.
The
hotel was able to provide us with an early check-in because
We came in to Athens from an early flight from Santorini.
They have also upgraded us to a luxurious room with a balcony
facing the Acropolis. The room (especially the bathroom) and
the view was absolutely magnificant. Please refer to the pictures
which is self explanatory. This hotel totally live up to the
name "Luxury Art Hotel". The bed is so comfortable
that my girlfriend and I overslept and we ended up missing
the breakfast.
Many
hotel offer complimentary bottled mineral water. But this
hotel goes that extra mile and also offer you complimentary
bottled soft drinks.
The
location is not too bad, within 10 mins walk to the Acropolis
(even though the hotel published that is within 5mins).
I
give this hotel a two thumbs up. |

"We
loved our stay here"
We loved our stay here and were only sorry there was no availability
on our return through Athens. We had to stay somewhere else
that only accentuated how great Eridanus was. Great rooms, great
views and a genuine warm friendly atmosphere - thank you for
a stunning evening!! |

Plaka
Area |
| |
As
soon as you start walking around Plaka's stone-paved, narrow streets,
you will have the feeling that you are travelling back in time. This is
Athens' oldest and, thanks to the restoration efforts which went into
its buildings in recent years, most picturesque neighbourhood. You will
be delighted by the beauty of the neo-classical colours of its houses,
their architecture, their lovingly tended little gardens, the elegance,
and the total atmosphere of the area. In Plaka, even the air is different;
lighter, clearer, scented, like a gift from the gods. More
