"Great
hotel"
This is really a very nice hotel. If you like Design hotels, you will love it. Excellent location, nice room, good breakfast. Stayed on the 7th floor, where we did have a nice view. Can def. recommend that hotel. |

"Can't wait to go back - a great hotel in all regards"
This hotel was wonderful - big, spacious, modern clean rooms with white duvets that are changed with every guest. The bathrooms are also clean, large, and modern with great amenities. The room was very quiet even though we were in a room that faced the street.
Breakfast was an expansive spread of warm and cold dishes - quiche, eggs, sausages, bacon, breads, Greek cheeses, a wide selection of yogurts, fresh fruits, sweets, etc. Great coffee from the coffee bar (espresso, capuccino, etc) is included.
On the roof is a great roof bar with amazing views of the city. The pool is also located there. As we visited in the winter the bar and pool were closed, but the hotel staff was very gracious and opened up the roof for us and another couple to take photos and enjoy the view.
The hotel initially doesn't seem to be in a great location - but in fact it is. It is only a few blocks away from both established dining and shopping neighborhoods and others that are up and coming and packed with locals. A few blocks from the hotel in the other decoration is a neighborhood that could be deemed "sketchy" - but we walked through and were fine, and there is no need to walk that direction anyways. But it is interesting nonetheless.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and checkin and checkout went smoothly.
We thought this was a great hotel and a good value for the money. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Athens.

"Best breakfast"
The Fresh Hotel is about 100 metres on the wrong side of the tracks. Just off Athinas Street, between Omonia and Monastiraki Metro stations it is convenient to just about everything: the shops in Ermou the restaurants in Plaka, Syntagma,Square and the Acropolis. But much of the area around Omonia Square is tacky and the Fresh Hotel itself is right next to what appears to be a brothel!
The hotel bills itself as a "designer hotel" and certainly a huge amount of thought has gone into the bright, vibrant decor. The staff are very friendly , helpful and efficient. The trendy, arty clientele are must be attracted by the bright rooms, the fantasic views from the top floor bar and pool area and the lively (if sometimes noisy) bar.
The bedrooms are comfortable have a good range of facilities and the showers powerful enough to wake you after a late night.
For me the highlight is the breakfast. Greek hotels do not major in breakfast. A dull selection of meat, cheese, diluted orange juice and quite dreadful coffee. Not so the Fresh Hotel - with its spectacular buffet, fresh orange juice, YOUR choice of coffee, smoked salmon, English language newspapers you should be well set up for the day. |

"Great
hotel"
+ The
staff are very courteous and accommodating. The rooms are small
but clean. Internet access is free, the breakfast is very good
and the hotel is centrally located.
- The first time I stayed I had a very nice
room on the 8th floor with a balcony however I was surprised
because when I returned the following week as planned, I was
given a very small room on the 2nd floor with no balcony. To
their credit, when I asked the desk they were able to offer
me a larger room for the following night. |

"Fresh
Hotel - A great experience check in to check out"
Tucked into a side street in the middle ot the city is Fresh
Hotel. Super trendy, beautiful little boutique hotel. Great
rooms, great service - what else is there to say about a hotel.
The rooms compare to a design hotel in any major city (think
NY, London, LA), and the staff was warm (and very importantly
spoke English really well). The bathroom amenities were superb
and the rooms had everything. Computers/internt are available
if you don't have your own with you and the views of the Acropolis
at night from their rooftop bar are unbelievable (and the bar
is great). The restaurant never had more than one person in
it so I never went in but it's really beatifully designed. Most
of Athens is big and crowded and old - Fresh Hotel really is
fresh for the city. Very close to Omonia Square (like Times
Square in New York), so some unseasoned travellers might not
love the location, but it's really fine. Close to the Acropolis
and all the antiquities and main attractions. Breakfast buffet
in the morning was wonderful and in a beautiful setting as well.
This is not a hotel for Marriott or Four Seasons guests. This
is a designer boutique hotel - better for younger travellers,
romantic couples, gay & lesbian travellers and anyone that
appreciates design combined with quality. All in all - a pretty
flawless stay (and I stayed twice). |

"Roof
top pool & bar are a nice bonus for the hotel"
+ Modern,
clean rooms; good service. Very good selection for breakfast.
Roof top pool & bar are a nice bonus for the hotel.
- Price of food at the rooftop bar was quite
unreasonable in comparison to the cost of a meal throughout
the city. |

"Rawer
side of Athens"
+ The
decor - this is a design hotel and you go basically to oggle
the lovely rooms. The
roof terrace - despite the ugliness of some of the surrounding
buildings the terrace was lovely at sunset.
The
pool - a big hit with our daughter (if a little chilly for
us!)
Great
breakfast.
- It
would be good if a note could be added about the area in which
the hotel is based. This is a hotel in a fairly high price bracket
so we were surprised to encounter prostitutes only a few steps
outside the hotel. The area contains a large ethnic community
who have a market running up to about midnight in an adjoining
street. So it's a bit noisy and a bit uncomfortable encountering
this "rawer" side of Athens when you are not expecting
it. Some
of the staff were excellent especially the lady serving coffees
at breakfast. However the male staff were surly and could
do with smiling a bit more, especially those on reception.
The
desk top in our room opened up to reveal a mirror which is
useful. However the very heavy solid oak lid was not hooked
to the wall and fell down nearly catching our daughters' fingers
under it. |

"Good
location/nice hotel/good price"
I enjoyed the fresh hotel last august 2006. I have been bit
disappointed by the lobby, i expected bit better but i guess
the photograpg did a a very good job in shooting it! However,
the hotel is very nice and there is a not-to-miss roofterrasse
with a spectacular view at sunset time. the swimming pool has
a bathtube size. the rooms are fine, i guess i had a standard,
we were three and honestly was a bit small for two, but i guess
2 people is definitely enough. The breakafst is fine, the staff
need to learn bit more in term of hospitality, but i found that
in the all Greece. The complimentary internet at business center
(when not busy by teen chatting on MSN) and the free small-but-equipped
fitness made the hotel a good place to stay at.
The bathroom of my room was nice but small...i anyway suggest
for those who look for a not conventional hotel at conventional
price! |

As
soon as you start walking around Plaka's stone-paved, narrow streets,
you will have the feeling that you are travelling back in time. This is
Athens' oldest and, thanks to the restoration efforts which went into
its buildings in recent years, most picturesque neighbourhood. You will
be delighted by the beauty of the neo-classical colours of its houses,
their architecture, their lovingly tended little gardens, the elegance,
and the total atmosphere of the area. In Plaka, even the air is different;
lighter, clearer, scented, like a gift from the gods. More
