"Friendly,peaceful,hommie"
Although a chain hotel,it feels like home.
Each room is decorated differently as we were told at the Front
desk.We had a superior small csy room in the interior of the
hotel , 510.Spent there 2 days during the holidays of Christmas
and i loved every minute of it
Even though we didnt stay much in our room cause we were there
for shopping we did try room service and the amazing Tudor Hall
Service is what make the difference.Friendly, smiling and warm
was the attitude from all the staff
The fisrt impression we got from the doorman till the maid and
the waiters up to the groom who said goodbye was the same.Warmth
and pride to work in a hotel like King george!!!!! |

"Great
Hotel! Excellent Location!"
We stayed here for 6 nights in Early November for our anniversary.
We have nothing but NICE things to say about King George. The
room and service was excellent. They had a daily turn down service
where they left us some really great chocolates. (We looked
forward to the them!) The rooms were always clean. Our bathroom
was also very luxurious - it had a seperate tub and standing
shower.
The location
couldnt be better - literally steps away from the Syntagma
Metro station. The best and cheapest way to get to this hotel
from the Airport is the Metro. The line that runs from the
Airport goes straight to the Syntagma station. We did not
try the restaurants in the hotel - so cant comment on them.
We were able to walk to Ermou Street and the Plaka area very
easily. The Acropolis was also a walkable distance (longer
walk). Some of the other places we could walk to were: the
National Gardens, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Kolonaki Square.

"Unbelievable
Customer Service"
When we checked in, my husband was ill. The hotel found us a
doctor, and regularly checked on us, calling with offers of
soup, etc. They screened our guests so we wouldn't be disturbed,
and were thrilled when he was well enough to sight see. The
location is perfection, the room quiet, and the breakfast was
not to be missed. The view from the restaurant is incredible.
Worth every penny - we are looking forward to returning! |

"Fit
for a King"
Spent 3 nights at this hotel at the beginning of a trip through
Greece and Turkey. The room and facilities were very nice in
a great location for seeing the highlights of Athens. Located
next door to the Grand Bretagne and the NJV Athens Plaza on
Syntagma Square. This puts you in easy walking distance to major
Athens attractions. I booked through a travel agent which got
me a great rate. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating.
The room was comfortable, quiet, nicely decorated, and spacious.re. |

"improved
but ready for prime time"
The king George has undergone a major renovation and is a grande
hotel in a prime location. The service is great. The room layouts
are not functional ie the high speed internet connects thru
the TV which is on the opposite side of the room from the desk, the
TV is next to the bed and not across so you cannot watch while
in bed, small uncomfprtable chairs, the health club does not
open until 11 am,the breakfast buffet is skimpy. There is no
outdoor pool. The Athens Plaza next door offers same great location
with more modern and convenient amenaties. |

"Location
is perfect"
+ Location
and overall ambiance. The view from the breakfast terrace is
fantastic.
-I had
expected soft down pillows at this hotell. Apparantly there
were none available in the hotel at all.
I found the broadband to be slow and expensive. Also, it did
not work initially and the TV had to be replaced and the service
person had to come 3 times to make it work. I would have expected
a free wi-fi in a hotel of this calibre. |

Plaka
Area |
| |
As
soon as you start walking around Plaka's stone-paved, narrow streets,
you will have the feeling that you are travelling back in time. This is
Athens' oldest and, thanks to the restoration efforts which went into
its buildings in recent years, most picturesque neighbourhood. You will
be delighted by the beauty of the neo-classical colours of its houses,
their architecture, their lovingly tended little gardens, the elegance,
and the total atmosphere of the area. In Plaka, even the air is different;
lighter, clearer, scented, like a gift from the gods. More
