"We
felt very comfortable there"
+ Clean,
good downtown location (we could walk to attractions or take
the metro and found several cafe's close to the hotel), attractive/pretty,
reasonable price, helpful courteous staff. We felt very comfortable
there.
- More English comprehension by the staff, we
had to ask for face wash clothes and ice that would have been
given to us without asking at other hotels. The rooms with bathtubs
are larger so ask for a bathtub (we only had a shower). |

"We
would absolutely stay again"
+ The
room was extremely clean and very charming - loved the shower.
The buffet breakfast was extensive, good quality food with many
choices. The view from the top was outstanding of the Acropolis
lit up. The whole hotel was clean, modern with a very light
airy feeling. The entire staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
We also appreciated the smoke free environment in our room.
We would absolutely stay again if we ever get back to Athens.
- As a first time visitor to Athens, it would
have been helpful to have had more extensive tourist information.
The swimming pool does require some upkeep with the tiles. |

"Terrible
Hotel"
I had been waiting a lifetime to go to Greece and did quite
a bit of research on hotels in Athens. I was very disappointed
in the Residence Georgio. After making my reservation on line,
I called to explain I would be on my honeymoon and could they
do their best to give me a high room with a nice view? (3 months
in advance) My room was in the middle of the hotel, with a horrible
view of a dilapidated commercial building across the street.
I asked them to help me check on flights and they refused (but
gave the me the number to call from my room - I don't speak
Greek) The 2 days I spent in Athens, they never cleaned my room
and then when I wanted help getting transportation to Crete,
they again refused. This is a 2 star hotel at best. WAY OVER
PRICED with sullen staff. DO NOT STAY HERE! |

"Good
but small gym overlook the City"
+ The
excellent bath/jacuzzi in the room. Good but small gym overlooking
the City. Well stocked mini-bar and good food.
- Time to wait for food. Over an hour for room
service and similar for The roof top bar/restaurant. Not much
available for vegetarians. |

Plaka
Area |
| |
As
soon as you start walking around Plaka's stone-paved, narrow streets,
you will have the feeling that you are travelling back in time. This is
Athens' oldest and, thanks to the restoration efforts which went into
its buildings in recent years, most picturesque neighbourhood. You will
be delighted by the beauty of the neo-classical colours of its houses,
their architecture, their lovingly tended little gardens, the elegance,
and the total atmosphere of the area. In Plaka, even the air is different;
lighter, clearer, scented, like a gift from the gods. More
